We are proud to be the first Applied Behavior Analysis center in Ozark, Alabama. Our partnership with Dr. Tucker allows us to ensure your family receives multi-disciplinary care. Dr. Tucker and associates offer psychological and autism assessments. Beacon of Hope offers applied behavior analysis for children, adolescents, and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our center is over 4,000 square feet and designed to meet the needs of all of our patients.
Beacon ABA has an ABA center with psychological services are available right across the hall. We call our service area a center for ABA rather than a clinic for ABA because we focus on teaching skills in environments that match the individual's natural environment so that generalization of skills takes place. We prefer to minimize a clinical feel when engaged in the session and instead strive to create environments that are reinforcing for the client. At our center, you will find multiple one-on-one therapy rooms where individuals can work on their behavior goals in quiet calm settings. We also have a calming sensory room for individuals that are working on regulating their emotions, learning to communicate what they are experiencing through their senses, and for individuals who seek sensory experiences. We also have a full kitchen to work on early cooking skills with learners and to work on living skills. Finally, we have a social interaction space that allows gross motor play, collaborative play, and a chance to target appropriate social interactions. We can not wait to share our clinic with your family!
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder. ABA is focused on finding the functions of behavior and decreasing behaviors that are dangerous and/ or impede daily functioning for the individual. ABA is also able to teach individuals new skills that can replace problem behaviors. The goal for us at Beacon of Hope is to teach the individual how to be adaptive in their environment and be able to access and interact with their community in ways that full-fill their aspirations. We focus on improving the quality of life for all of our clients.
ABA is based in science and all of our clinical decisions are data-driven. We make sure to involve the families and client in decisions as much as possible by explaining the results of assessments, demonstrating behavior graphs, and providing frequent caregiver training.
